Miho

Hello, my name is Miho Harmes. I was born and raised in the Southern part of Japan, called Ibusuki (Ibusuki is well known for its hot springs). I graduated from Kyoto University of Foreign Studies with emphasis in Brazilian and Portuguese studies. Within these disciplines, I sought many opportunities to interact with people from various countries. Since then, I have traveled to many countries learning about people and culture, pursuing my lifelong interest. Before I moved to the United States, I taught ESL for children and taught Japanese for adults in Japan. Through those experiences, I learned the value of interactive teaching and curriculum based on the individual learning style. My journey of pursuing Montessori education started when my husband and I enrolled my older son in Compass Montessori School. I fell in love with Montessori education and the philosophy upon which it is founded. Mainly, unfolding and inspiring the life of a child through a holistic education, rather than utilizing one specific approach. This passion has led to my interest in completing an AMI primary training. This is my nineteenth year working at Compass, and my two sons attended Compass.. In my free time, I enjoy spending time hiking, playing tennis, backcountry skiing as well as playing musical instruments and reading books across various genres.

Danielle

Hello, my name is Danielle Berman. I was born and raised in Connecticut. I studied Ballet as I grew up and shortly after high school I joined MOMIX, an internationally touring modern dance company, and spent the next 9 years traveling and performing in 35 countries on 6 continents. After retiring, I became a Massage Therapist, as well as a Project Manager for a construction company and a Manager at a family-owned wine bar, before taking some time off to spend focusing on my children. Both children were accepted at Compass, and soon I began substituting here in various classrooms and totally fell in love with the Montessori philosophy. Every teacher I met was incredibly inspiring in their devotion to both Montessori learning and their students. This is my fifth full year as an Assistant in the Jade Room. I am AMS certified, and currently taking classes towards a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a Montessori Concentration. When I am not at Compass, I enjoy exploring CO with my 2 children, Madeleine and Jonah.

Matthew

Hello, my name is Matthew Logue. I am a Colorado native, I was born in Denver in 1998, and grew up in the Golden area. I am a Compass Montessori Alumni that graduated in 2016. I started at Compass when I was two years old at the Wheat Ridge campus. When the Golden campus was built I then attended there from 2nd through 12th grade. My schooling experience here at Compass has provided me with many great opportunities over the years. While I was still in High school I took college classes at Red Rocks. Then when I graduated in 2016 I went to Metropolitan State University of Denver, and was studying Aviation and Aerospace Science. In the next chapter of my life I traveled to see new cultures and learn from them. I spent 2017 preparing for a 3m solo trip across Europe. I learned many things throughout my travels. In 2019, I began taking classes again at Red Rocks Community College. This Summer 2024 I also took an ECE class at Red Rocks. I have always had a passion for Montessori as it is something I grew up in, and now I am pursuing a life goal of returning to the compass community to teach. I am excited to see what this school year will bring and all the great learning that will occur!

Hello! My name is Jeannette Taga.  I was born in Georgia, and raised in Western Massachusetts.  I graduated from Springfield College with a major in Sports and Movement Studies and minors in Health and Spanish. Overall this will be my 21st year in education, including my 4th year at Compass teaching in Children's House. I was introduced to Montessori education when my children were born, and incorporated these values into our family's everyday lives to foster their independence. I enjoy being able to see first hand an education that meets such high levels of curiosity and cultivates a love for learning. When not in the classroom, you will find me playing competitive volleyball or spending time outdoors with my husband Ken, and two children, Mayu and Koji.
