TRACK SPRING 2024

Registration is CLOSED for the Spring season!

Meet Schedules: Click HERE for the Track Meets Schedule for Spring 2024

***REGISTRATION AND FORMS***

1.) You need to REGISTER to participate ONCE REGISTRATION OPENS.

2.) Submit your ATHLETICS RELEASE form (this can be filled out once for your child and is good for the entire school year for any sports in which they wish to participate).

3.) Submit a CURRENT PHYSICAL (the exam must be dated within a year of the start of the sport season in which your child wants to participate). You can submit the physical in two ways: 1. The form from the doctor that clearly says your child is healthy and can participate in sports or activities, or 2. Have your doctor fill out the Compass Physical form found in the Resources section.

All physical forms must be submitted during the registration process so please have that file ready to upload. Even if your submitted a physical file from a past sport, you will still need to re-submit for every new sport at Compass. Thank you.

NOTE: You only need to submit the Athletics Release Form once per school year. Please note that we won't allow anyone to participate on day 1 of practice unless they have a current physical. The physical submitted must be the Compass form linked above or your doctor's form that clearly states that your child is healthy enough to participate in sports. Proof of physical is required for each sport registration, regardless of whether or not it has been submitted for other sports this year. Thank you.

What: Track & Field is a middle school only sport and offered through the Middle School Sports Program (MSSP) that the Jeffco League provides to 6th-8th grade students. Track and Field is an incredible sport with an amazing community! Track and Field events consist of 100, 200, 400, 800, and 1600 meter races, as well as long jump, relays, and shot put. At practices, we will be preparing for both short distance and long distance! Practices can look different each day! Throughout the season, we will be working on our speed with fun sprints and relay workouts, working on our strength by running hills and doing core exercises, working on our endurance by running distance, and working on our fun by playing games of tag and capture the flag that still require you to run and move!

Who: 4th - 8th grade can practice but only 6th - 8th graders can compete in the Middle School Sports Program through Jeffco. If your child is younger than 6th grade and wants to train, please reach out to coach Alex directly.

We welcome ANY and ALL runners, no matter their abilities or experience. Whether you are someone new to running, someone looking for ways to stay healthy, or a seasoned runner, we want you to join our team!

Where: Practices are at Tony Grampsas Park next to the Compass Golden Campus and meets are at various locations (scheduling will be communicated by the coach once Jeffco releases them and when you are registered).

When: March 26 – May 16 (Championship Meet May 7, rainout day May 9). Practices is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm - 4pm (pick-up is at 4:05pm

A reminder for each practice and before being allowed to participate:

  • Athletic Shoes
  • Completed registration
  • Submission of Athletics Release form and a current proof of physical (within one year of season start date)
  • Water bottle (provided by Compass)
  • A positive attitude and a "coachable" mentality

Fee: The fees to participate are a $25 Compass general athletics fee and a $10 track that is paid during registration

There's an additional jersey fee (if you would like to keep your new and beautiful jersey!). Otherwise, you can use the school's jersey at no additional charge, and return it at the end of the season.
