What is the most inspiring thing about working at Compass, with students and/or in Montessori?

Connecting students with authentic experiences on the farm is my passion. Seeing students master the hands on work of milking goats and spinning yarn through repetition is an inspiration.

What is your favorite lesson in Montessori?

The land is my favorite Montessori material. This includes the plants, animals, and physical elements that make up an ecosystem students can observe and experiment with. Here at Compass, we have our farm with alpacas, chickens, goats and a garden to work with and experience as a human created ecosystem. 

How were you introduced to the world of Montessori? 

An add on Craigslist advertising a teaching position with the chance to travel with students and work on a community farm.
