This position is a part-time hourly position of approximately 15-20 hours per week when school is in session. Must be available to work between 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure the safety and security of students and staff at all times
- Ensure daily activities are running according to schedule
- Ensure supplies and snacks are distributed to children
- Assist in other student areas as directed by the Aftercare Coordinator
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Supervising the children with their safety at the forefront.
- Assisting in the planning and preparing of the child care environment, setting up the environment, and preparing needed materials and supplies.
- Supporting the general housekeeping tasks needed in the environment.
- Maintaining professional attitude and loyalty to the program at all times.
- Serve snacks to children daily.
- Attending and completing all recommended training to meet employment requirements prior to their first day of employment.
- Maintain ratios at all times in accordance with licensing requirements.

Montessori Elementary Assistant
Elementary Assistant Role
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- When a lead is in a lesson you are up and supporting other students and helping them find work. Preserve and protect lessons.
- Prepares and maintains the environment.
- Support with follow-up work.
- Once children are normalized, support one-on-one.
- The hours are 7:30 to 3:30.
- Monitoring recess
- Helping proctor during testing.
- Limit the use of technology in the classroom to only necessary situations.
- Support and making of materials such as making copies, laminating, cutting, and labeling.
- Breakfast or snack eating is limited to the common space, and lunch is only eaten in class at lunchtime.

Children's House Montessori Assistant

Essential Functions
- Support implementation of a high-quality Montessori children’s house curriculum consistent with accredited Montessori training
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, and student learning
- Encourage parent involvement in a student's education and provide effective communication with students, parents, and guides Utilize the school’s recordkeeping/reporting system for all student activities consistent with expectations defined by the classroom guide

General Position Description:
The staff member in this full-time mental health provider position will work closely with and give direction/delegate to the part-time social emotional learning assistant, as well as the building student support services and administrative team to coordinate, facilitate, and implement mental health support services. Staff in this position will provide social-emotional support to foster a safe and successful learning environment for students in the ECE through 6th grade level, including assessment for and design/implementation of specialized support services in legal compliance with IDEA and OCR.
Essential Functions:
- Provide comprehensive school mental health services to students addressing barriers that limit students from receiving full benefit from their educational experience
- Respond to referrals from school administration, parents/guardians, teachers, the Student Support Team, the Special Education team, and others by providing direct services and by assisting families in accessing appropriate community resources
- Drive and support school priorities for promoting tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 social-emotional well-being among students and staff
- Provide school-based mental health services in compliance with student’s individualized special education and Section 504 plans
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) to develop behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) in partnership with IEP team and administration
- Serve on student support teams and special education committees within the school.
- Review student records to identify previous barriers and/or interventions.
- Facilitate screenings for suicide risk and behavioral threat assessments in partnership with school administration and other staff, in conjunction with Jeffco Public Schools protocols
- Attend and meaningfully participate in IEP and Section 504 plan meetings
- Maintain records (ie EasyEdMed), meet identified student minutes and accommodations, and conduct timely progress monitoring.
- Conduct parent/guardian interviews to acquire information as needed for special education referrals, evaluations, and coordination of care
- Analyze information gained through record reviews and interviews to determine environmental impacts and appropriate resource needs; integrate gained information into a written report and oral presentation.
- Interview students and parents/guardians to discuss issues related to non-attendance and develop a plan of action.
- Put together resources on various social emotional topics for staff and parents/guardians, as needed
- Develop and implement social emotional curriculums for general education students in partnership with general education staff.
- Provide individual and/or group counseling in response to school or school community events that impact students and staff
- Participate in, and implement, professional development activities aimed at current trends and best practices for the provision of comprehensive school social work services.
- Maintain an ongoing liaison with community agencies and other resources to meet student needs; refers parents/guardians and students to agencies, when appropriate.

General Description:
The staff member in this social emotional learning assistant position will work closely with and under direction of the full-time building mental health provider, as well as the building administrative team to coordinate, facilitate, and implement mental health support services. Staff in this position will provide social-emotional support to foster a safe and successful learning environment for students in the ECE through 6th grade level. The primary focus will be upon building students’ capacity for success in the educational setting and positive social-emotional well-being both through proactive and responsive approaches.
Essential Functions:
- Provide comprehensive school mental health services to students to foster prosocial skills and appropriate behavior, improving skills in the areas of emotional regulation, coping strategies, situational awareness, problem solving/flexible thinking/conflict resolution, impulse control, and self-advocacy in an elementary Montessori environment
- Promote the social skills and emotional wellness of students and staff through programming that supports an authentic and respectful culture and climate, inside and outside of the classroom setting using both prevention and intervention models.
- Supporting students and advocating for their emotional, mental and physical wellbeing.
- Develop youth leadership and empowerment skills.
- Facilitate restorative justice and peace process with students on an as-needed basis
- Provide crisis assistance and intervention (i.e., family death, self-harm) strategies on an as-needed basis to improve student success.
- Coordinate referrals with building mental health staff from school administration, parents, teachers, the Student Support Team, the Special Education team, 504 Coordinator and others by providing direct services and by assisting families in accessing appropriate community resources.
- Coordinating universal social emotional programming and supports such as: SEL Curriculum, data-based decision making, professional development, and facilitation of Tier 2 supports, which may include psycho-educational counseling groups.
- Provide individual and/or group psycho-educational counseling in response to school community events that impact students and staff.
- Analyze information gained through record review and interviews to identify previous barriers and/or interventions, determine environmental impacts and appropriate resource needs; integrate gained information into a written report and oral presentation.
- Assist students in general education with challenges, such as gender identity, giftedness, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and social challenges with peers.
- Collaborate with school leadership to assess, develop and implement initiatives to address social-emotional wellness of students, primarily with students receiving 504 Plan supports, identified through SSIS-SEL, and students identified as gifted.
- Shall conduct interviews and observations of individuals, families and systems/organizations (namely, classroom, school, teachers, neighborhood, district, state) with the goal of identifying the needs, characteristics, and interactions of students, families, and school personnel while improving student social, emotional, behavioral, and academic outcomes. Whether this is part of the 504 plan assessment and annual review updates, gifted students, or general education students.
- Attend 504 meetings, as well as other meetings deemed necessary by the mental health team, support services team, and administration team on an as-needed basis (i.e., district monthly SEL meetings, re-entry meetings, mental health team meetings).
- Partner and collaborate with students, families, teachers and school staff to support students' individual needs via teacher consultation, team meetings, MTSS process.
- Participate in professional development activities aimed at current trends and best practices for the provision of comprehensive school social-emotional and mental health services.
- Maintain an ongoing liaison with families, community agencies and other resources to meet student needs; refers parents and students to agencies when appropriate.
- Document services being initiated, maintain documentation of services provided on an ongoing basis, as well as initial assessments and annual reviews for 504 Plans.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS
Substitute Teachers choose their own hours upon teacher and staff requests. Subs are paid hourly, and needed for both our Golden and Wheat Ridge Campus for Pre-K through High School classrooms.
